Příbram District (Czech: okres Příbram) is a district (okres) within the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. Its capital is the town of Příbram and the towns of Dobříš and Sedlčany are larger centres.
Ancient mining district with many localities. The first mining activities in this area were carried out by Celtic inhabitants. Silver was extracted first, then Pb-Zn ores, and finally uranium.
The Březové Hory (Birkenberg) subdistrict closed in 1978, the Bohutín one in 1979. All mining activities stopped in 1991.
A mining museum can be visited in Březové Hory (Birkenberg).
Note on the mineral list: Hakite is enriched in Zn and Cd, and Škácha et al. (2016) report a Zn-dominant hakite-like phase ('Zn-hakite'), and a rare Cd-dominant one ('Cd-hakite').
