Name:
Named in 1970 by J. Hak, Z. Johan, and Brian J. Skinner in honor of Dr. Jan Kutina (1924, Prague - 14 August 2008, Maryland, USA), geologist. He held academic positions at the Charles University in Prague and in the USA and Japan. His specialty was ore deposits and metallogenic research.
Restudy of the type material is necessary (Bindi & Makovicky, 2015).
