There are thick yellow gemmy plates of analysed Wakabayashilite that are easiliy misidentifified as orpiment Vincent Bourgoin commented: 'Orpiment is a mineral highly questionable to Jas Roux because it has never been analyzed. It is cited in the BRGM inventory and by Mantienne without having ever been the subject of analysis (personal confirmation that I had from M. Mantienne who did his thesis on this deposit). Some wakabayashilite plates are so thick and gemmy that they can sometimes make you think of the orpiment."

Semseyite can have four shapes : - massive in ore veins; - massive with typically crystallized faces here and there (with striated faces); - tabular with striated faces (common shape, but rare in the veins) - see my photos; - "cuneiform" shape (new shape a priori unknown elsewhere) (see my photos).
