Ancient research works for coal. Mineralization in quartz almonds. Several crumbling trenches and galleries.

"(Coming from Saint-Chaffrey). Northwest of Briançon on the N91 [currently the D1091]. At Chantemerle take the D34 [currently the D234T] to the right toward the Col de Granon and the Col de Cristol (2483 m). Between this col and the lake to the north, there are old diggings with anglesite, bournonite, covellite, galena, quartz, and sphalerite." [Belot, 1978]
