Mont Thabor (3.178 m), at the head of Vallée Étroite/Valle Stretta, mainly consists of quartzites. A limestone body overlying a gypsum vein crops out on its summit. The black veined limestone contains fossils of Cylindrites, partly filled by limonite and small calcite crystals. Pyrite crystals are present in the groundmass.
