The province of Cáceres (US: /ˈkɑːsəreɪs/ KAH-sə-rayss; Spanish: provincia de Cáceres, [ˈkaθeɾes]) is a province of western Spain, and makes up the northern half of the autonomous community of Extremadura. Its capital is the city of Cáceres. The Tagus river runs through the province.
