Tin deposit, consisting of pneumatolytic cassiterite- and montebrasite-bearing veins hosted by clay schists. The deposit was occasionally worked for both cassiterite and montebrasite. The mine was abandoned in the 1970s.
Located about 5 km east of Cáceres.

Currently (2018-2023), this deposit is planned to be developed into a large lithium mine by the joint venture "Tecnología Extremeña del Litio", although it is located in a Nature Park and very close to Cáceres. The city officials and the local population oppose the planned mining.

The relatively unconventional Sn-Li mineralization at the giant Valdeflores deposit entails a stockwork-like quartz vein system striking mainly NE-SW with subvertical dips. The veins, with thicknesses ranging from 1 to 60 cm, include cassiterite, amblygonite, montebrasite, apatite, and fluorite. The contact of the veins with the altered host rocks is commonly bounded by a cassiterite-rich, cm-thick selvage of mica, ranging in composition between muscovite and zinnwaldite. These veins are hosted by a large zone of pervasive tourmaline and greisen alteration of the metapelitic and quartzitic rocks of Ordovician age. The hydrothermal halo is the largest resource of lithium in the deposit (ca. 113 Mt @ 0.61 % Li2O).
