Botallack is a small village located on the west side of the B3306 approximately 1.4 km to the north of the centre of the town of St Just.

The village gave its name to the Botallack Mine.

Please note that this and neighbouring mines, together with cliff outcrops, are part of the Aire Point to Carrick Du SSSI. For full details of the extent of the SSSI, please consult the map on the Natural England website. The area is owned by the National Trust who have wardens on patrol. Mineral collecting requires the written consent of the Trust and Natural England. A diary is maintained in The Count House and they are aware of all authorised collecting visits. Sorry if this appears negative but it may save you a pointless journey. You are welcome to visit to enjoy the views and fresh air but they will only let you take home pictures and memories. The views are well worth the visit.
