The Dabie Orogen is situated in the eastern part of the Qinling–Tongbai–Hong’an–Dabie Orogen in central China. The Dabie Orogen is divided, from north to south, into the North Huaiyang (NH) unit, ND unit, HP-UHP eclogite unit, Susong Complex (SC) unit, and Zhangbaling Group. Pluton name: (1) Egongbao; (2) Yunfengding; (3) Shigujian; (4) Tiantangzhai; (5) Baimajian; (6) Yunfengzhai; (7,8) Veins in the Mozitan; (9) Yingshanjian; (10) Tianzhushan; (11) Zhubuyuan; (12) Shutan; (13) Luannitan; (14) Meichuan; (15) Yaohe; (16) Gaofeng; (17) Longmianzhai.
The Tongbai-Dabie orogen was formed by the continental collision between the Yangtze Craton and the North China Craton during the Middle to Late Triassic. Structurally, it is bounded by the Gui-Mei Fault to the north and the Xincheng-Huangpi Fault to the south. The Tongbai-Dabie orogenic belt can be further subdivided into the Tongbai orogenic belt, Western Dabie, and Eastern Dabie from west to east. These subdivisions are delineated by the Nan-Xiang Basin, the Dawu Fault, and the Shang-Ma Fault, respectively. Magmatic intrusions are widely distributed throughout the Tongbai-Dabie orogen. Based on their ages, petrogenesis, and geodynamic setting, these intrusive rocks can be classified into three types: (1) Neoproterozoic (Ca. 800–635 Ma) diabases and A-type granites emplaced in a continental rifting setting; (2) Early Paleozoic (ca. 464–429 Ma) tholeiitic mafic intrusions formed as a result of the north-dipping subduction of the Pale-Qinling oceanic plate; (3) The most widespread Early Cretaceous (ca. 143–110 Ma) granitoids, gabbros, and high-Mg adakites are associated with the lithospheric thickness and the subsequent extension.
