Description: Note: The original find of "vesignieite from this locality was an error (personal communication, David Shannon, September 2, 1991: "Ref: MR Vol 22, p 383 If you have not already been told about the "vesignieite" from Newmont Mine, it's volborthite!! No Ba present by spectrographic check. This was confirmed by x-ray also by Bill Wise (via Bruce Runner) and also by Jim McGlassen. Deep sigh. They were thr best vesignieites I had seen." The second article confirmed that vesignieite had been found, but the specimens were far inferior to the original misidentified specimens.
