Mineralisations in mafic-ultramafic rocks.
Ilmenite, which was mined here, is the dominant ore mineral and occurs as vein fillings or euhedral crystals 1-1.5 cm in size; the mineral is often Mn-rich.
In the Jolotca area, the length of the E–W trending, north-dipping veins varies between a few hundred meters and one kilometer, their width is 5–150 cm, but may occasionally reach up to 20 m. The veins exhibit a complex mineralogical composition: REE- and Nb-Ta-Ti-Fe-bearing phases along with sulphides are the most common minerals.
