Many minerals that are described in the literature from "Bamble" are from the geographical and political unity called Bamble in the County of Telemark. However, the designation "Bamble" may also (especially in geological literature) refer to a geological term and area called "the Bamble sector", a high-grade metamorphic gneiss terrain in southern Norway that covers a much larger area from Lillesand in the southwest to Bamble in the northeast.

It was found in greenish nodules found in greyish apatite veins. The nodules consisted as a mixture of wagnerite and apatite.
