Important uranium accumulations at the base of Cretaceous (Cenomanian) sediments. Several so-called deposits (Stráž, Hamr, Holičky, Osečná – Kotel, Břevniště, Hvězdov) were exploited by underground mining and acid leaching.
Characteristic for these deposits is a U-Zr-P-Ti (mostly microscopic) mineralization within a sandstone matrix. The mineralization is divided between a uranium and a uranium-zirconium subtype. Major minerals with economical importance are oxides of U4+ (uraninite s.l.), ningyoite and uranium-bearing "hydrozircon". Less abundant are "uranium-bearing leucoxens s.l.", coffinite and vyacheslavite.
