'Alkali Feldspar'
Amblygonite
Formula: LiAl(PO4)F
Description: MinDat, on the pages for amblygonote and montebrasite, indicates that virtually all reported amblygonite from granites is actually montebrasite. Further, a chemical analysis by Walker and Parsons (1924) shows that the material is very low in fluorine and high in water/hydroxyl.
Anatase
Formula: TiO2
Habit: Most commonly as bipyramids to about 2mm. Also as flattened tabular crystals and plates. Small numbers of tiny rosettes ("anatase roses").
Colour: Black, rarely inky blue.
Description: First collected by the Nova Scotia Mineral and Gem Society and visitors from Ontario. It is localized to a brecciated rock along the northeastern end of the pit. Not reported from the rest of the mine. Associated with adularia, chlorite, quartz, bertrandite, and other minerals. Rarely found on or included in quartz. Some palm sized pieces contained hundreds of crystals.

Description: Richardson adds hisingerite to a paragenetic sequence plot, with a question mark behind the name. More recent WDS testing on very good material gives Si and Fe, with a bit of Al as an impurity. The material is red, botryoidal, and resinous, with a conchoidal fracture, all fitting most closely with hisingerite.

Description: Interesting brown-cream colored prismatic crystals with excellent cleavage are parisite, a cerium carbonate mineral. Actually, recent microprobe tests have shown that the central parts of the crystals are parisite and the rinds are a cerium phosphate. More identification work is being carried out. These crystals are generally about 5 mm or less, but have been found to about 1 cm. Rarely they will have a dusting of extremely tiny pyrites.
