Porphyry Cu-Mo-Au deposits, related to the Late Mesozoic adakitic porphyries of Fujiawu, Tongchang and Zhushahong that intruded Mesoproterozoic slate and phyllite. Only the Tongchang deposit is mined at a larger scale. A small scale operation is centered at the Fujiawu deposit, whereas the Zhushahong deposit is not presently worked. The Guanmaoshan gold deposit, located between the Tongchang and Fujiawu deposits, does also belong to the ore field.

The Dexing ore field is the largest porphyry copper ore field in China, with estimated reserves of 1.5 billion tonnes of ore grading at 0.43% Cu, 0.02% Mo, 0.16 g/t Au, and 1.9 g/t Ag.

The Dexing ore field is a renowned porphyry system in eastern China that hosts the Fujiawu, Tongchang, and Zhushahong deposits, which are estimated to contain considerable rhenium (Re) reserves amounting to 1000 tons. The Dexing Cu-Mo-Au orefield is intimately associated with three granodiorite porphyries: Tongchang (exposed area: 0.7 km2), Fujiawu (exposed area: 0.2 km2), and Zhushahong (exposed area: 0.06 km2), located in the central, southeastern, and northwestern zones, respectively. These deposits boast substantial mineral reserves, including 5.2 Mt Cu at 0.45 %, 128,000 t Mo at 0.01 %, and 215 t Au at 0.19 g/t (Tongchang); 2.57 Mt Cu at 0.5 %, 168,000 t Mo at 0.03 % (Fujiawu); and 0.6 Mt Cu at 0.42 % (Zhushahong). The styles of the ore mineralization in the Dexing orefield are primarily characterized by stockwork veinlets, as well as disseminated ores, with occasional by minor coarse veins ranging in width from 1 to 10 cm. Copper dominates, as the main commodity within the orefield, are accompanied by gold and/or molybdenum as byproducts.

The Dexing district hosts three world-class deposits developed in close spatial association: (1) the giant Dexing porphyry Cu-Mo-Au system (~8 Mt Cu, ~300 t Au), (2) the Yinshan epithermal-polymetallic Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag-Au deposit, and (3) the Jinshan orogenic gold deposit. The NEE-trending orefield spans ~60 km2 and contains proven gold resources of >200 t Au. The Dexing district is defined by the regional Northeast Jiangxi deep fault zone along its southeastern margin, the Le’an River deep fault zone to the northwest, and the intervening Sizhoumiao synclinorium.
