About CarbonateHide

A term mostly used for any mineral or compound characterized by a fundamental anionic structure of (CO3)2-. Calcite and aragonite are examples of carbonate minerals. Most common are the rhombohedral carbonates.

The term is also used for carbonate rock and carbonate sediment, also carbonate rich ores.
