San Piero in Campo is a village in Tuscany, central Italy, administratively a frazione of the comune of Campo nell'Elba, in the province of Livorno.

San Piero in Campo is located on Elba Island, about 3 km from the municipal seat of Marina di Campo.

Its territory is part of the Mt. Capanne thermometamorphic ring; the contact granodiorite-serpentinite is rich in pegmatite veins, containing Cs- and REE minerals.

The pegmatitic field cropping out in the San Piero in Campo area includes famous quarries and dykes such as La Speranza, Masso Forese, Fonte del Prete, Facciatoia, and Grotta d’Oggi.

These dykes display a variable strike, inclination, thickness, and mineralogical composition.

A distinctive characteristic of these bodies is the presence of small pockets (~1 cm in size), mainly in the central part and at the terminations of the dyke, along its strike.

The pockets located in the core zone contain schorl, blue beryl, spessartine, ilmenorutile, columbite-(Fe), euxenite-(Y), polycrase-(Y) and U–Bi-rich polycrase-(Y).

The pockets that are irregularly distributed at the terminations of the dyke are characterized by polychrome tourmaline, colourless beryl, Li-dominant minerals (mainly lepidolite), columbite-(Mn), U-Bi-rich polycrase-(Y), uranopolycrase, microlite group minerals, titanowodginite and, rarely, tantalite-(Mn).
