High-temperature quartz veins with Sn-W-Bi-Mo mineralization.
Deposits were mined from 1912 to 1990 in different claims (San Nicolás, Galia, Arreglo, Cerrojo, and Fraternidad).
World-quality topaz/m> crystals.
Very interesting secondary mineralization from the arsenopyrite-pyrite, ferberite-molybdenite veins.

The San Nicolás W-(Sn-Bi-Mo) deposit (historical production: 0.5 Mt @ 0.4 % WO3, 0.5 % Sn and 0.15 % Bi) consists of two large quartz vein swarms, trending N35-40°E and N90°E. The veins are 0.3 to 0.5 m thick, with total lengths of up to 2.5 km and occur hosted in Devonian slates and quartzites. Spatially related to the quartz vein systems several small sub-outcropping granitic cupolas crop out giving rise to an extensive halo, approximately 10 km in diameter, of contact metamorphism.
