Carbonitized K-rich lamproites over 250 km2 (volcanic ring complex in a subsidence caldera related to an upper mantle plume and triple junction of upper mantle convection boundaries).
Complex structure with three distinct zones :
- Pyrochlore carbonatites
- Lower ore zone: metasomatically carbonatized volcanites enriched in REE, Nb, Y and Sc
- Upper ore zone: placer deposit affected by hydrothermal alteration

Presence of kamafugite dikes and pipes.

Scandium exists in a distinct phase : Sc(OH)3 film on phosphates.

This 15 km × 20 km oval massif has a concentrically zonal structure and composed mainly of alkaline and nepheline syenites. The core of the massif consists of carbonatite rocks bordered by a rim of foidolites, i.e. nepheline-pyroxene rocks. Less common are dikes or tubular bodies of alkaline rocks with ultramafic composition, which various authors refer to as alnoites, alkaline picrites, lamprophyres, or lamproites.
