Bimbowrie was a former sheep station situated in the Olary Ranges, South Australia, and was purchased by the South Australian Government as a conservation park in 2004.

The area comprises some 72,216 hectares.

A locality on the main road 6.5 km west of ‘Bimbowrie’, figured in Barnes et al. (1980), contains small corundum crystals described as translucent blue (Office of Minerals and Energy Resources South Australia, 1999).
Rarely corundum prisms occur as an accessory in pegmatites in the area(GM Pitt, South Australian Department of Mines and Energy, pers. comm., 1981).

A locality (Varischetti Deposit) previously had been added as a locality within the conservation park for limonite and zwieselite. According to South Australia Mines there is no such deposit/locality. There is also no such place name. This deposit has been merged into Bimbowrie Conservation Park pending further information, if any, that may become available.
