A copper mine with chalcocite as the primary ore mineral. Known for some very unusual copper arsenate minerals as well as cobalt mineralisation.
Located 42 km N of Mingary, on Boolcoomatta Station.

Note: The whole area (Boolcoomatta Station) is now a nature reserve under the Bush Heritage Trust, and collecting from the mine workings is prohibited.

The Mineralogical Society of South Australia is helping the Australian Bush Heritage Trust to clean up, protect and make safe, this and other sites on the property. The old mine site is a heritage trail and visitors can now read over explanatory signs that outline the history of the mine.

The name "Dome Rock" comes from a prominent dome-shaped outcrop of banded ironstone, within view and approximately 3 km north-west of the mine.
