Named after the type locality, Zálesí uranium deposit, Zálesí, Javorník, Jeseník District, Olomouc Region, Czech Republic.
Mixite Group.
The arsenate analogue of Calciopetersite and the Ca-analogue of plumboagardite.

Ca-dominant member, with Ca > sum of REE.
Visually indistinguishable from other greenish members of the mixite group. Often only unambiguously identifiable by reliable SEM-EDS analyses or quantitative electron microprobe analyses.

Note: Prior to the approval of the name zálesíite, the preliminary designation "Agardite-(Ca)" was used by some authors.
