Named in honor of Mei-fu Zhou, at the State Key Laboratory of Ore Deposit Geochemistry, Guiyang, China, for his outstanding contributions to the field of economic geology.
Structurally and - to some extent - chemically related to annite. Also chemically quite similar to 'chloro-potassic-ferri-magnesiotaramite'.
