Yulong porphyry Cu belt in the eastern Tibetan Plateau is a recognized post-subduction Cu belt, 15–30 km wide and 400 km long, containing a total resource of > 10 Mt of Cu. The formation of intermediate to supergiant Cu-Mo deposits in the region exhibits a genetic linkage to Eocene magmatic suites, comprising porphyry intrusions and potassium-enriched mafic-felsic volcanic complexes, developing within structurally favorable zones along N- to NNW-striking regional strike-slip fault systems.
