Lubin (Polish: [ˈlubin]; German: Lüben, Silesian: Lubin) is a city in Lower Silesian Voivodeship in south-western Poland. It is the administrative seat of Lubin County, and also of the rural district called Gmina Lubin, although it is not part of the territory of the latter, as the town forms a separate urban gmina.

Lubin is situated on the Zimnica river in the Lower Silesian historical region, about 71 kilometres (ca. 44 mi) northwest of Wrocław and 20 km (ca. 12 mi) north of Legnica.

The city is one of the major industrial locations in Lower Silesia, with the headquarters of the third-largest Polish corporation, the KGHM Polska Miedź mining company.

A part of Lubin-Sieroszowice ore zone.

A lot of minerals are given, i.a., by Kucha (2007), who reports also CuMoS3, Cu8MoS9, Cu9MoS9, Cu7Fe0.2S4, and a new "chevrel" compound, as well as Pb-bearing gold, Pb-bearing castaingite, K-bearing castaingite and Pb-bearing feldspar and thiosulphates of Fe.

According to Kucha (2007), main copper minerals are chalcocite, digenite, bornite, chalcopyrite, djurleite, covellite, spionkopite, geerite, haycockite, yarrowite, and new phase Cu7Fe0.3S4.
