Vote for your favorite mineral in #MinCup26! - Quartz vs. Asagiite
It's a classic vs a newbie as the most common named mineral in the crust Quartz is up against an exceedingly-rare sea foam-green mineral discovered just a few years ago Asagiite.

Copper(-gold) district.
Contains about 20 million tons of Cu and 420 tons of Au with an average altitude of 5000 m and severe climate (severe cold and hypoxia, large temperature difference between day and night, high ultraviolet radiation intensity).

The Duolong mineral district displays a prominent east–west trend, and it has been the site of multiple notable discoveries of porphyritic-epithermal and crypto-explosion breccia tube deposits. Specifically, deposits like Naruo and Tiegelongnan have been identified as primarily forming between 116 and 122 Ma, marking a significant period of mineralization in the regional evolution. The rich endowment is further underscored by substantial copper reserves, which have been confirmed to exceed 20 million tons. As a result, the Duolong mineral district has gained national and international prominence, establishing itself as the first world-class super large-scale copper–gold mineral district in China.

Cumulative exploration has revealed copper reserves exceeding 20 million tonnes, gold reserves surpassing 450 tonnes, and silver reserves over 3,400 tonnes. Extensive studies demonstrate that the ore-forming magmatic rocks in Duolong predominantly comprise intermediate-acid granodiorite porphyry–granite porphyry series, belonging to high-K calc-alkaline to shoshonitic suites.

The Duolong ore district, located in the western segment of the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone, situated along the southern margin of the Qiangtang terrane, approximately 20–30 km north of the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone, hosting several large to giant porphyry Cu-Au and high-sulfidation epithermal deposits, constitutes one of the most representative porphyry-epithermal Cu-Au ore districts within this metallogenic province. They are spatially and temporally closely associated with each other, forming at around 120–116 Ma, along a NE-SW fault system. At present, proven resources exceed 25 million tons of Cu, 520 tons of Au, and 3,900 tons of Ag, making the Duolong ore district one the largest porphyry copper–gold mineral resource districts in China.
