Miniere Monte Trisa, Valle dei Mercanti (Val Mercanti), Torrebelvicino, Provincia di Vicenza (Vicentino), Veneto, Italia


The old mines of Monte Trisa are located in the altered Triassic porphyrites near the small town of Torrebelvicino. During the Venetian Republic dominion, the old mines (named “buse” in local dialect) were exploited for silver, lead and copper. One of the last galleries cultivated by the Venetians (1742-1745) is the Veneziana Gallery which is located on the Val dei Mercanti side at the base of Monte Trisa. In the last century in the "Lombard concession", some tunnels were opened or reopened in Monte Trisa: both in the side of Val Livergon (Lombardo 1, 2, 3, 4 Sud, 4 Nord, 5, 6) and in Val dei Mercanti (Lombardo 1, 2, 3, 4).
