Zheshengite is named in honor of Chinese mineralogist Zhesheng Ma (born 1937), a former professor at the China University of Geosciences (Beijing). She conducted extensive mineralogical research in the Dongchuan Copper ore field and was the first to describe tangdanite (formerly known as “clinotyrolite”), a new mineral discovered in that region.
The Zn-, or rather ZnZn-analogue of cuprozheshengite. An (ordered?) As-enriched analogue of dongchuanite.

prismatic single crystals with chisel-like terminations on hemimorphite, with crystal sizes ranging from 0.02 to 0.05 mm.
