Named in honour of Silvio Menchetti (1937–), Professor of Mineralogy and Crystallography at the University of Florence, for his contribution to the systematics of sulfosalts.
New species belonging to the lillianite series. Chemically similar to lasmanisite, oyonite, and uchucchacuaite. Also compare ramdohrite and 'dürfeldtite'.
