For the town of Filipstad, Sweden, which is near the Långban mine.
The Fe3+ analogue of tegengrenite.
Chemically somewhat similar to manganoschafarzikite, and melanostibite, garpenbergite.
Crystal structure details:
- ions occupy ⅛ of the octahedral and ½ of the tetrahedral holes of the spinel-type ccp oxygen lattice
- tetrahedral sites are split into 5 subsites, as a result of cation ordering
- octahedral sites are split into 6 subsites, as a result of cation ordering
- unit cell edge is tripled due to cation ordering
- M sites, octahedral, host Sb, part of Mn and Fe, and most of Mg
- T sites host the rest of Mn, Fe, and trace Mg, Zn, and Si
