The place Jakobsbakken is situated southwest of the Sulitjelma centre approximently 600 meters above the sea level and other side of the water -Langvannet. The ore where brought to Sulitjelma by a cableway.
The Jakobsbakken mines where in operation from 1896 to 1968. In total 4 467 million tons of ore were mined here.
