Belton Grain vein is one of the more mineralogicaly diverse veins in the Wanlockhead-Leadhills area. The vein has been confirmed over a distance of 1 mile coursing NNW-SSE, and traced for a further 1/2 mile. Belton Grain vein has been developed in Whytes Cleuch and from both sides of Wanlock Dod, by adits and shallow shafts. The grid ref is for the shaft workings on top of Wenlock Dod.
