Iwagi-jima (Japanese: 岩城島) is an island in Japan's Seto Inland Sea. It is located in Kamijima on the northern border of Ehime Prefecture.

Iwagi-jima is part of the Geiyo Islands. The island has an area of ​​8.95 km² and a circumference of 30.2 km. The highest point is Sekizen-zan (菰隠崎) in the center of the island with a height of 369.6 m. At the southern end of the island is Cape Komokakushi (菰隠崎).

The neighbouring islands are Ikina-jima (生名島) in the east, Akahone-jima (赤穂根島) in the south, Hakata-jima (伯方島) in the southwest and Ikuchi-jima (生口島) in the northwest. There is a bridge connection to Ikinajima.

The Iwagi islet contains metasomatic rocks, which are the type locality of four Li-bearing minerals. The metasomatic rocks in the area are classified
into the following types based on the major mineral assemblage, from the initial host rock to the inner part of metasomatism:

(1) the original coarse-grained granite (quartz + microcline + plagioclase + biotite),

(2) albitized granite (microcline + albite + quartz + biotite ± aegirine ± ferro-ferriholmquistite),

(3) quartz albitite (albite + quartz + microcline + aegirine),

(4) hedenbergite albitite (albite + quartz + microcline + hedenbergite + andradite),

(5) sugilite albitite (albite + sugilite + aegirine-augite),

(6) katayamalite albitite (albite + aegirine augite + katayamalite + sugilite); and

(7) murakamiite-bearing albitite (albite + sugilite + aegirine augite + murakamiite + pectolite + katayamalite)

These types of metasomatic alteration occur on the scale of centimetres to metres (Nagashima et al., 2022).
