Type material is deposited in the mineralogical collections of the Museo di Storia Naturale, Università di Pisa, Via Roma 79, Calci, Pisa, Italy, catalogue number 19908.
Geological Setting of Type Material:
Scorticoite is likely formed by the circulation of late-stage hydrothermal fluids within the Mn-rich silicate-bearing rocks forming the Scortico-Ravazzone Mn mineralization
