Anguillara is located on the south-east shore of Lake Bracciano in the Sabatini volcanic complex. The town has been built on a promontory made of pyroclastic rocks, known as "Pizzo Prato pyroclastic flow".
The presence of kimzeyite in a holocrystalline block, found in the pyroclastic flow, is noteworthy. This block has turned out to be a spinel ultra-melilitolite, with gehlenite exceeding 70% by volume plus spinel, rare kimzeyite, pyrite and secondary baryte (Schingaro et al., 2001).
