Baza is a city in the province of Granada in the community of Andalusia. Its municipality is the most extensive of the province with 546 km ². In this municipality are located such important areas as the Sierra de Baza*, with important deposits of lead, fluor, copper and iron as well as evaporitic (sedimentary rocks) extensions with minerals such as gypsum.
*NOTE: Not to be confused with the Sierra de Baza in Almería.
