Group of mines located near the abandoned hamlet of El Tesorero, in the ravine Uclías in the heart of the Sierra de Baza.

Developed an intense activity throughout the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and closed in 1923.

The mines exploded a stratiform mineralization developed on the materials of the complex "Nevado-Filabride" essentially of siderite with alteration to oxides.
Next to this mineralization of Fe, some copper and bismuth was observed as sulphides and alteration minerals.

There are preserved remains of numerous buildings and installations of these important mines, especially of the Hernan Cortes Mine, which had six levels of galleries and an air transport system for wires over 16 km long.
