Abandoned marble quarry in which a large amphibolite lens was once encountered. The marble also contains graphite lenses. Sulphate efflorescences occur in areas rich in pyrite/pyrrhotite and (more or less) protected from rain, especially during dry weather spells (Kolitsch and Löffler, 2022).
Known for the largest and best scapolite (marialite) crystals in Lower Austria.

Located several hundreds of meters SE of Amstall, directly at the road to Wegscheid.

Not to be confused with the graphite mine/quarry near Wegscheid (in which also marble occurs).
