Conventional and SHRIMP II U–Pb age determinations have been carried out for zircons from two samples of metagranodiorites (both collected in a scree, downstream of the Cogne village) and indicate an age of at 357 ± 24 Ma (conventional IDTIMS analyses) and 356 ± 3 Ma (SHRIMP analyses) (Bertrand et al., 2000).
