Mg-Al skarn iron deposit in the contact zone of Mesozoic diorite and Ordovician limestone.

Note: EPMA analyses of 31 garnet samples by Zhang Jinmin and Cao Zhengmin (1988) show that 29 samples are andradite, with only the remaining two being grossular. Lai et al. (2013) have an analysis of the vesuvianite that is non-standard: (Ca19.0,Na0.255,K 0.012)19.271(Al9.089, Fe³⁺1.376, Ti0.341, Mg2.156, Fe²⁺0.216, Mn0.08)13.186 P0.098(Si17.977, Al0.223)18O70.208(OH)7.772. This is double the normal vesuvianite formula. It represents a slightly Al-rich vesuvianite (ss).

The Fushan iron deposit, situated approximately 2 km north of Xixu Town, is distinguished by its substantial iron reserves, totaling 46 million tons, exhibiting an average grade of 43 wt% Fe. The iron body is primarily localized within the contact zone between diorite and carbonate rocks, with a portion of the iron body penetrating carbonate rock layers or intrusive complexes in a vein-like configuration. Most ore bodies exhibit lens-shaped or vein-like morphologies, characterized by dimensions ranging from 660 to 1000 m in length, 50 to 250 m in width, and 10 to 200 m in thickness. The skarn, prominently developed within the Fushan iron deposit, displays considerable Na-alteration in the vicinity of the iron deposit. Comprising predominantly garnet, diopside, tremolite, actinolite, and epidote, the skarn delineates a distinctive geological feature in this context.
