Named for its relationship to tundrite-(Ce), with Nd being the dominant rare earth element.
Note that the mineral was accepted automatically, without detailed investigation and description of type material. Only a single Nd-dominant analysis was published. In other words, tundrite-(Nd) is a very doubtful mineral, which nobody saw and nobody have. Consequently nobody was able to repeat results of its chemical analysis.
