Description: Nayak and Leake refers to an analysis by Lahiri(1971) corresponding to eckermannite: (Na0.38K0.16)0.54(Na1.58Ca0.42)2.00(Mg3.08Mn2+0.47Fe2+0.02Fe3+0.62Al0.80Ti0.03)5.53(Si7.49Al0.51)8.00O22(OH)2. Normally, the amphiboles from Kajlidongri have Fesup>3+>>Al.In addition they are zoned and hincluded by other minerals such as albite. The occurrence of eckermannite is therefore considered questionable until confirmed by modern analytical techniques ( microprobe).
