Low–sulfidation epithermal Au–Ag–Te deposit
Tellurium-rich quartz vein-type gold deposit.
A total reserve of ≥25 tons of gold and an average grade of 15 g/t. A major gold deposit in which the gold telluride minerals are the dominant ore, with more than 95% of recovered gold occurring as tellurides.
Quartz veins at Sandaowanzi contain Au- and Ag-tellurides. The ore bodies (40 in three belts) are hosted in the Early Cretaceous Longjiang Formation (andesite and andesite breccia) along WNW-trending normal faults. Ore body II is the only current operating stope. The lenticular ore body is 212.6 m long and 0.81–14.3 m thick (averaging ∼ 6 m). The ore body strikes 20-40°, dips 58-77°, and plunges to a depth of 520 m along the dip direction. The average grade of ore body II is 13.98 g/t Au.

Geochronology
Mineralization age: Phanerozoic : 485 ± 26 Ma to 79 ± 74 MaImportant note: This table is based only on rock and mineral ages recorded on mindat.org for this locality and is not necessarily a complete representation of the geochronology, but does give an indication of possible mineralization events relevant to this locality. As more age information is added this table may expand in the future. A break in the table simply indicates a lack of data entered here, not necessarily a break in the geologic sequence. Grey background entries are from different, related, localities.
