About StibiogoldfielditeHide

Formula:
(Cu4Cu2)(Cu4Cu+2)(Sb2Te2)S12S
Colour:
Dark gray
Lustre:
Metallic
Hardness:
3½ - 4
Specific Gravity:
5.055 (Calculated)
Crystal System:
Isometric
Name:
Named for antimony (Latin: stibium) and its relation to goldfieldite.
Related to goldfieldite by the substitution of 2Sb3+ for 2Te4+, compensated by the filling of the M2-site vacancies with 2Cu+. Chemically somewhat similar to benleonardite.

An Ag-Bi-(S,Se) phase is an additional associate, at both holo- and cotype localities.
