Name:
Originally named cerite-(La) for being La-dominant-analogue of cerite-(Ce), in accordance with the Levinson system of nomenclature of REE-minerals. It was renamed to ferricerite-(La) by the IMA in 2020 when the cerite supergroup was created.
The lanthanum and iron analogue of Cerite-(Ce). Isostructural with phosphates of Merrillite Group.
Cerite-(La) was renamed as ferricerite-(La) since Fe is dominant in the M site (CNMNC Newsletter 57). New data induced change to the current ferricerite-(LaCa).
