The Aydindere Fe-Cu skarn mineralization occurs along the contact between Late Cretaceous volcano-sedimentary rocks and a Cretaceous–Eocene granitoid (western orebody as endo- and exoskarn), as well as within the granitoid (eastern orebody as endoskarn). These two (eastern and western) ore bodies are locally exposed on the north-west mountainside with a distance between them about 500 – 700 m. The ores in the east and western regions are parts of the same system, separated by a deep valley. Gold mineralization with calcite, tetradymite, hessite, emplectite, bismuthinite, apatite and native gold was discovered during an assessment of the iron-copper ore in the western ore body.
