Vote for your favorite mineral in #MinCup26! - Quartz vs. Asagiite
It's a classic vs a newbie as the most common named mineral in the crust Quartz is up against an exceedingly-rare sea foam-green mineral discovered just a few years ago Asagiite.

Affioramento di metabreccia basaltica del Monte Albergian, Pragelato, Città metropolitana di Torino (Provincia di Torino), Piemonte, Italia

Outcrop of a metamafic body close to the top of Monte Albergian.

It mostly consists of a clast-supported basaltic metabreccia dominated by basalt/diabase clasts. Clasts and blocks of coarse-grained, isotropic Mg-Al metagabbro, occur in the Monte Albergian south-west face (2900-3000 m a.s.l.). The whole metamafic body is covered by discontinuous levels of black micaschists locally intercalated with impure marble layers. These are followed by a thick sequence of calcschists, containing levels and lenses of impure marbles.
