Late-stage Alpine fissures in metabauxites (greenschist facies) embedded in Triassic calcite and dolomite marbles of the Barrhorn Unit of the Siviez-Mischabel nappe.

NOTE
In the original paper of Chopin et al. (2003) the type-locality of zincostaurolite is erroneously reported as “Barrhorn serie in Matt valley”. But, although for few tens of meters only, metabauxites actually occur on the Turtmann watershed of Brunegg pass.
