The Blanchard Mine is a historic lead-bearing mine located near Bingham, in Socorro County, New Mexico. It is also known in the literature as the Hansonburg Lead Mine and the McCarthy Lead Mine, reflecting changes in ownership and periods of activity. As of 2018, the property was held under active mining claims by private individuals. The mine forms part of the broader Hansonburg mining district, an area well known for carbonate-hosted base-metal mineralisation and associated fluorite and barite.

Mineralisation at the Blanchard Mine is hosted within the Council Springs Limestone Member of the Pennsylvanian Madera Limestone, a carbonate unit that has acted as a favourable horizon for replacement-style and vein-related mineral deposits. Ore minerals include lead-bearing phases accompanied by significant fluorite (CaF₂) and barite (BaSO₄), reflecting a chemically complex hydrothermal system. This style of mineralisation is characteristic of carbonate-hosted deposits in central New Mexico, where reactive limestones facilitated metal deposition.

A bench-scale beneficiation test conducted on a 100-pound sample illustrates the polymetallic nature of the ore and its processing potential. The raw ore assayed approximately 9.5% CaF₂, 9.3% BaSO₄, and 3.95% lead. Concentration testing produced a fluorite-rich concentrate grading 95.8% CaF₂ with a 53.7% recovery, a barite concentrate grading 86.4% BaSO₄ with 38.5% recovery, and a lead concentrate achieving 57.9% Pb with a notably high 70.2% recovery. These results highlight both the metallurgical complexity of the deposit and its potential for selective recovery of multiple economic components.
