Porphyry Cu-Mo deposit. It contains 52000 t Cu and 5600 t Mo, and the potential for further expansion is expected in the deeper levels. Distinguishing from typical porphyry Cu-Mo deposits, the Dabate Cu-Mo deposit shows a clear separation of Cu and Mo mineralization on both the temporal and spatial scales.

he Upper Devonian Tuosikuertawu Formation is the main outcropping strata in the mining area, and is composed of tuff, tuffaceous sandstone, and tuff breccia. Currently, the Dabate deposit has four Cu ore bodies and one Mo ore body, but the Cu and Mo ore bodies are spatially separate with each other (Fig. 2a). The Mo ore body occurs as quartz–Mo veins at a depth of approximately 300 m of present surface (Fig. 2a, b); it extends 300 m in a north–south direction and 70 m in an east–west direction and occurs within the central and western part of the rhyolite porphyry. The average Mo grade of the orebody is 0.065 wt%. The two currently mined major Cu orebodies are Nos. 3–1 and 3–2; these are located at the contact zone between the rhyolitic porphyry and tuff and inside the rhyolitic porphyry, and their average Cu grades are 0.67 wt% and 0.59 wt%, respectively. Cu mineralization in the No. 3–1 Cu orebody mainly exists in the form of fluorite sulfide veins; No. 3–2 Cu mineralization occurs mainly in rhyolite porphyry in the form of disseminated. Both ore bodies have a length and width of more than 200 m and 10–15 m, respectively, but there is a wide variation between their depths (80–350 m).
